ELEC 2821 - Programmable Logic Controllers
Prerequisite: ELEC 1120 or permission of instructor. This course covers similarities between programmable controllers and relay logic. It includes programmable logic controller (PLC) instructions with application, programming, installation, and troubleshooting techniques. Comprehensive labs use the Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley family of controllers and programming software to design and implement real world industrial automation applications starting with basic relay logic and progressing to advanced timer/counter applications, sequencer instructions, and Ethernet communications between controllers.
