CHEM 2800 - Internship and Seminar in Chemistry |
Prerequisite: CHEM 2600 or permission of instructor or department chair. This internship course provides students with practical, hands-on experience in a professional chemistry setting. Students will complete 100 hours of supervised internship work, applying chemical principles and techniques in a real-world environment. In addition, the course includes a 1-credit hour seminar, in which students will discuss their experiences, reflect on professional development, and explore topics, such as ethical practices, lab safety, and career opportunities in chemistry. This course aims to bridge academic knowledge with industry practices, preparing students for future careers in chemistry. Students will prepare a summary project for presentation to the class.
