HIMT 1225 - Outpatient Procedure Coding
Prerequisite: HLTH 1215, BIOL 2210 or HLTH 1238. In this introductory Health Care Common Procedure Coding (HCPCS) coding class, which includes Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), students will learn the history and structure of the HCPCS medical classification system that is used to describe and report procedures for physician and outpatient claims. Students will attain basic HCPCS coding skills in order to apply this coding system in a variety of provider settings.
