Prerequisite: ENGL 1110 or ENGL 1111 or permission of instructor.
This course examines children's needs in literature at all levels but especially during early and middle childhood. Students will learn the characteristics of outstanding children's books, apply selection criteria, analyze literary merit, determine educational value, and practice presentation and teaching techniques.
