This course provides a survey of the cultural and historical perspectives regarding drug use, drug abuse, and the impact of drugs on society and the individual. Students will learn sociological, psychological, pharmacological, and legal aspects of drug usage. Students will study the causes of drug dependency, treatment alternatives, and the greater consequences of drug usage for our social institutions.
